Here’s an inconvenient truth: urban development is the primary cause of climate change, with cities contributing 70% of the world’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emission. Malaysia has pledged to reduce carbon emissions per unit of GDP by 45% by 2030. What measures have we put in place to achieve this target? In more relevant terms, how will these policies affect you, the person on the ground? In this panel, we discuss how these measures are being enforced to change old habits that die hard.

Millennials, or the Latte Economy as they are becoming known, are the most sustainability-conscious generation – studies have shown that they are the most willing to spend more on brands that are seen as sustainable or environmentally responsible. While they stand to gain from the vast expertise of environmentalists from the older generations, are their beliefs and actions translating into real value? We speak to individuals from different green movements to discuss simple and practical actions that can make a difference now.

This panel will also be interpreted for the hearing impaired. The first several rows at the venue will be reserved.

Admission is FREE, but pre-registration is required: http://yumm.my/CL2017x20
