Based on a cyberpunk short-story The White Mask, 21 visual artists will be presenting their imagined visions of urban Malaysia, in a dystopian future.
Written by Zedeck Siew for Fixi Novo’s CYBERPUNK: MALAYSIA anthology (2015, edited by Zen Cho), the short-story introduces the technological wonders of paint in the future, putting it into the hands of graffiti artists who continue to question the structures and rules that govern.
The exhibition features 22 artists from various backgrounds including:
ANDRIALIS ABDUL RAHMAN
HASLIN BIN ISMAIL
TEY BENG TZE
The White Mask exhibition will be held in partnership with the 5th edition of The Cooler Lumpur Festival, with the theme Notes From the Future which looks at the social, political, technological, and cultural ideas that have become representative of these times and tell the story of our collective futures.
The exhibition has been curated by Sharmin Parameswaran a visual arts curator currently based at Interpr8 Art Space, with the support of The Cooler Lumpur Festival and Buku FIXI.
Admission is FREE.
