H.E. Mrs. Karin Mössenlechner was born in Enschede, the Netherlands, on 14 September
After grammar school she studied at the Technical University of Twente, the University of
Leyden and the University of Texas in Austin. She graduated in 1995 at the University of
Leyden in History/American Studies (cum laude).
After several jobs in journalism and politics she started her diplomatic career at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1997. She had postings in India and Switzerland and
worked for the Netherlands Football Association, before she took up her posting as
Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Malaysia on 1 August 2016.
